Monstertrack NYC

Back in the day

Braggin' rights.

If ever there was a race for messengers to test their mettle against the best of the best - MONSTERTRACK is that race, and it's happening this weekend in New York City.

No brakes is the only rule.

It's been a long time since I've raced it - and both times I've fallen a step short on the podium because it's not just a test of speed, strength and endurance.

It's stamina, and split second decision making (stopping for red lights), combined with intimate knowledge of Manhattan and Brooklyn, and not getting dudded by checkpoint marshalls.  Lance wouldn't stand a chance.

The race also features at one of the nastiest times of the year for weather, snow, black ice, and freezing cold.

My fondest alleycat memories are from Monstertrack.  Lucky for those racing, ADIDAS decided not to fly me to NYC to represent.   Maybe next year.

For the amusement of you AND me, sit back and watch from the safety of your chair as they try and catch me - devil may care.

Even Scarlett will be there - they always through a great party and side events.
