Anti-Cycling War

It's on the TV tonight and the media clip features a Melbourne courier I wont name 'skitching'. All the ammunition they need.

2 years ago I was contacted by Today Tonight. They wanted an incensed do-gooder to ride around around with a camera on their bike filming commuters breaking the law. I played along ( and what a scary conversation that was) but fortunately someone within TT is a cyclist and snuffed the piece before it went to air.

Here's a classic generalisation of two wheeled road users.

Cyclists do not obey any road rules, they charge through pedestrians, cut of traffic at intersections, overtake on the inside, ignore all lights, including the specially creating bycycle lights. There are no penalties for reckless driving, and they are abusive and aggressive to both motorists and pedestrians. They do not hesitate to use one-way streets in the wrong direction. No penalties, no fines, no registration and no contribution to the maintenance of the roads. They should have to pay

The recent post finished with the remark 'Wear a helmet' a comment I frequently use, and this garnered a rather heated discussion. In light of the negative media exposure we're about to receive, there has never been a better time to wear a lid.

Either way, Helmets are Hot and that's just my 20c.
