A month on, the dust has well and truly finally settled on the last Melburn Roobaix - for 2012.
For those who didn't make it, you missed out on the 'best bike ride I've ever done'.
So they say.
For those who pounded the pave, got dressed up and looked a little silly, who rode special bikes, who took wrong turns, and who came from far away, thank you for making the 2012 Melburn Roobaix the best in history.
Without getting whimsical, thank to everyone who came up on the day, said hello and introduced themselves, said it was the 'best day on a bike' they'd ever had, and regaled their day to me, and showed me their bike and imparted a piece of themself on me. It means a lot.
In an age of increasing 'social media' it's the one time that combines all cycling tribes in a truly 'social' experience, and one day of the year I get to see old cycling friends, meet new ones, and put faces to the names and emails FYXO receives.
Melburn Roobaix would not be possible, nor as inexpensive would it have not been for the massive support from our sponsors.
