3 things on this weekend that may tickle your fancy.

1. Taste of Melbourne

Tell them I sent you.

2. Nalini Winter Clothing Sale.

Seriously discounted winter stock. If you are doing the Kinglake loop via Whittlesea in preparation for the Whittlesea Challenge you'll be riding right past - stay warm and grab a coffee and some bargains. 795 Plenty Rd, South Morang, VIC, 3752

Tell them I sent you - and if you can make it back to the Melbourne CBD (legally) in 25min you must be a taking helicopter.

3. Dirty Deeds CX

Last round, Brunwick Velodrome. Ride around in circles in the mud. Get dirty, laugh at your mates. More here.

Tell them I sent you.

Swings and roundabouts.

First, the INBOX.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the FYX.KOM shirt. It arrived Monday and it looks great!

My wife got the package from the postie and was immediately curious about its origin. Who's this Fyxomatosis person? Is she your mistress? And what's she sending you?!

In response to your FYX demographic query last week, I do treat your website like a mistress. Every day, on numerous occasions, I sneak a few minutes with her when things are slow and no one's watching. And when my brain starts to tire from maths, it wanders and wonders whether she has anything new to reveal. A click on Refresh and I'm usually satiated for another hour or so. Although, it is getting more difficult to stay away with all the new attire you've dolled her up in lately. She's looking good.

I have no idea how we met. Perhaps we were introduced by a mutual friend - Ride magazine; perhaps I just bumped into her on the web; perhaps we were matched by the Google speed dating service. Whatever way it was, I'm glad it happened.

As for the real me, I have no history with track racing, courieringering, fixed speed bikes, or restorations. I have a road bike that I bought in the Netherlands in 1995: a Koga Miyata - NO cycling royalty there. I just like my bicycle, I like riding, and I like your perspective on the marriage of bikes and life. Chapeau to you and your website.

A few final points:

1. Thanks for removing the ambiguity about fyxomatosis and Shifterbikes. But who's TC?

2. Those stools are the most wonderful things I've seen in a while.

3. Encourage Mrs Fyx to contribute more. The photos of her chicken and peas creation are sensational.

cheers,

Dr B, School of Mathematics & Physics

This (below) is how fyxomatosis started, and certainly won't help Dr B's addicition. A gallery of photos I'd taken at work on a practically antique digital camera.

Many models, one bike. Photos taken in between deliveries as a bike courier in Vancouver 2004.

Don't accept cheap imitations.

Last but not least

Fridays means courieringering so if you see me on the road, don't be shy. I can often be found loitering while I'm 'standing by' at Melburn's true meeting spot - Liaison. 22 Ridgway Pl. Hard to find, yes. Hard to forget once you've been.

Happy Friday!
