Wonder where that road goes?

Technology is a poor subsitute for 'knowing'. If you've ever done the Humevale climb and viewed out to your right you may have noticed the meandering valley rd that pitches up into the sky. I've always wanted to ride it for various reasons, mostly wanting to know where it leads.

Google maps is pretty handy, but discovering on your own that Parkers rd is a fire access road, and Coombes rd is a deadly rutted dirt descent is priceless data that Google does not provide. How steep? I have the torn knicks to prove it - from the descent. Another reason to find a new DISC brake cyclocross bike - or one with canti's that will at least slow me down.

The Ridge rd loop around Yan Yean reservoir is great. Rolling hills, smooth dirt roads. Many other unknowns to explore since streetview is not an option - but that's not a bad thing. I'll keep you in 'the loop'.
