vendredi heureux!

Phew.

What a day. I'm going to go out of a limb and call it the BEST Melburn Roobaix yet. The biggest field of 930 plus all the tag alongs, the longest and most challenging course, the most EPIC of prizes, and easily the best weather to date. To those who rode, got their smile on and made it what it was, a heartfelt thank you.

The prizes they were many, and thanks to event sponsors and supporters for adding to the prize pool.

Congratulations to Will Ford, the luckiest rider over the cobbles whose name was plucked from the GOLD box and rode home with the FYXO prize - A bottle of French Champagne, a goldie lookin' Pave trophy, and a Return airfare to Paris for April to see the Rhonde Van Vlaanderen / Paris-Roubaix in the flesh.

Will was 'stoked'.

If I even get close to making the 2012 event as good as this year let alone better, I too will be 'stoked'.

Time to start dreaming bigger - again.

Happy Friday! - or as they say in France 'Vendredi Heureux!'

Homesick recipes.

Words by The Boss.

In Canada many of the traditions to celebrate the birthday of your country are similar to Australian traditions; outdoor parties, BBQ's, and often accompanied by beer with friends.

Being winter here in Australia, this year we celebrated with a Canadian classic dinner offering. On the menu was French Canadian Shepherd's Pie. This is a easy dish that is super yummy. I remember having this for dinner numerous times, hot and cold and always served with a squeeze of Ketchup.

In my first year at school I had an argument with my teacher and told her she was wrong. It's 'ZEE' not 'ZED'.
