Cycling Tips

I've got a CT  kit coming for Christmas but better than that,  a cycling tip for you all.

1. Ride more.

Even before I started courieringering I used to ride alot.

I rode to work in Melbourne.  25km each way, 3 days a week.  The money I saved on petrol I put towards my South American travel fund, though truth be told I ate twice as much the days I rode.

I rode to work in London. 13km each way.

London is no walk in the park, arguably the most harrowing city to tackle on two wheels.

I thought I knew how to ride - but I was wrong.

Only when I rode every day, all day did I start to become smooth and savvy to the complex matrix of the road.

You can read about it, watch youtube, but until you ride day in, day out you won't get it.

You have to go out and ride it, make mistakes, observe and practice.

Another good tip is wear a helmet - but you know that one.

I'll get to the tips and tricks next time but for now, ride more and 'be the ball'

Bruce felt at home with his new friends after the alleycat. His busy morning left his legs still hairy but a quick fashion blitz thru his mum's draw and the pantyhoes were the perfect accessory. Finally he was feeling one with himself.

Despite loosing half his riders with Armstrongs departure and the team bosses letting the Minogue sisters design the new kit, Alberto Contador (2nd left) remains upbeat about his chances next year.

Hey Andy!

Just bought some Merckx decals from Cyclomondo last week, they're on their way. Great service! Can't wait to get them in the mail.

Decided to go for an all yellow paintjob with Corsa decals from the late 80's. My EM track bike is gonna look sorta like this roadie:

www.flickr.com/.../4065982358

And... I picked up another project last Saturday at a bicycle fair at the Museum of the Tour des Flandres museum in Belgium, a Ferrari red Gios Compact frame from 88 in mint condition for only €65! That's gonna be my new road project.

Anyways, I'll send you some pics when the Merckx is done. Thanx for your help through our e-mails.

Greets from Rotterdam,

Mathieu

P.S. "Geen woorden, maar daden!"

To Mathieu,
I am restoring a Gios Compact from 87. I got decals from Greg at Cyclomondo ...perfect! He has both kinds, the older ones that are kind of silvery/grey or the solid white ones which came after 89. God luck with your project!
