My grandpa backed over my last BMX with his car. I was 7.
'I told you not to leave it there'.
I got a MTB after that. I can remember Mum loading two big brown boxes into the trunk of her 1978 Marquis and Dad pulling out the box and assembling the contents.
Someone had told me that you had to pedal backwards to change gears (my first geared bike) and naturally it was a horrible experience.
My Dad, in keeping with his ability to own items yet never appear to have used them demanded that the foam packaging remain on the bike in order to protect the paint.
Imagine trying to explain to your neighbour why the foam was still on your new bike. From this point on, combined with my red hair, and sharp tongue I knew I had no chance of ever being 'cool' - but I stuck with bikes all the same.
Now they call the foam pads top tube protectors... Turns out I was ahead of my time.
A moment stolen in time.
So much to love about this.
Classic vans, Oakley Eyeshades and his own Race plates.

Thanks BF.
Can't tell you how nice it is to see vids with cars driving on the left.

August 22nd!
Dresden is also where my old lover gets around.
If there is a hotter pista out there, I haven't seen it. Lucky for the new owner she was too small for me.

If for some reason you missed this the first time.
You'll have to google it gen y - but if your first computer was a Commodore 64 you'll know where I'm coming from.
