Col D'Uglier and other stuff at Brunswick Velodrome
The folks at BV gave us a heads up about Velorock when we made sure there is 250+ Travelsmart maps ready for Melburn-Roobaix.
MELBURN ROOBAIX update:
The course has been finalised and it never ceases to amaze us how many great sections of rough cobbled lanes there are between Fed Sq and Brunswick Velodrome.
There may be a misconception that this is a FIXED event.
It is not. It is a bike event. Two wheels, knobby or slick, fixed or free, rigid or soft. All are welcome!
All 250 - so get there early.
MB's Fuschia Merckx was the highlight in 2005 with his accompanying Mapei squad never far ebhind. Last year this lovely Kaos Custom got a pounding..

That's one of the best looking bikes I've seen all year.

I did it for the first time last year. There are many, many different types of bike there and my bike snob detector didn't pick up anything at all! It rained like the Carlton Clydesdales all pissing at once last year and was still more fun than watching a recumbent running into the back of a truck. Don't miss it!

nice one Philthy...fell off my chair laughing...Still picturing that recumbent rider now

Gorgeous bike. My noobish eyes have never seen brakes like that!
AussieRideron March 28 2008 09:37:22
Brakes are Campagnolo Delta's circa mid to late 80's

Pity Melbs-Roobs is on the same weekend as the Tour of Coleraine
Tough choice, but the Tour it shall be!

Like Christmas - they both come but once a year... although you can race any old road race most weekends. Easy choice
