The 'other' Queen of the Classics

2009mr.jpg

fyxomatosis is proud to present, for the fourth year running

Melburn Roobaix

The Hell of the Northcote.

If you've never done the ride before, it will surely blow your mind.

If you are part of the MR stable, rest assured that just like previous editions, they will all be different, yet all tackle the famed Col D'Ugly, a lap of Brunswick Velodrome.

Apres-velo, food, drink, banter and prize raffle will be at the Lomond Hotel in Brunswick.

The Australian dollar has gone to pieces, but we've keep the value the same - $10 gets you a whole afternoon of fun navigating the filthiest, bumpiest lanes Melburn has to offer, feed stations at Melburn's finer cafes, and as always, surprises that only riders on the day will face.

We've had to draw a line on field size, and this year it is 300.

More details to come.

For now, have a great weekend.

See you in Hell.

*TC

Correct me if I am wrong, but is this easter saturday?
fyxomatosis on February 07 2009 09:33:29
yes it is. should I poll to see if people prefer to have it a week later?

It's always been a Saturday old man scoot. So you can go to church on Sunday.
primato on February 07 2009 14:44:24
Easter Saturday is the Saturday after Easter Sunday ie 19 April this year. The Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is not Easter Saturday.

Riding is my religion, the road is my cathedral.

I think the ACMC is on that weekend. May be it's a tactical move. Are you planning to go?

I thought the theory of the move to April (apart from better weather than July) was that it would be run on the SAME DAY as the Paris-Roubaix... therefore it should be Easter Sunday 12/4/09. Mind you, I suppose half the partners/vendors etc wouldn't be open on the Sunday hey?

Hey TC & Ugly
Not sure if you two realise how pivotal your role in the messenger community has been over the years but we'd really appreciate it if you bought your tickets to Perth and come hang out with us for the ACMC this easter.

It wont be the same without you.
(and don't give me that i'm not a messenger anymore crap)smiley
