Since 1998 *edit*

A short-winded history on (spit) blogging.

When your favourite band releases a 'GREATEST HITS' album, it usually spells the beginning of the end.

I had my first 'site' in 1997. It was a geocities site. The URL was harder to remember than my physics project on the coefficient of restitution .

It captured mostly photos from travelling in North and then South America which I combined with GROUP emails - a highlight for those in the group was when I was robbed at gunpoint.

WAY Back then, you had to print out your photos

scan them,

scale them,

upload them,

code the HTML... a real nightmare.

Here's an EARLY pic from 1998 - where else....

Now... you MUST watch this.

Eddie - take note during the 'blogging' chapter.

Photos.

1. Congratulations to Finno, exenger, scalliwag, good bloke - who is now responsible for another human life.

As if the world needed ANOTHER ladies man.

Pictured here in our Sowf London flat. 6 people, 3 bedrooms, 12 bikes.

2. How your bikes arrive OFF the plane in Copenhagen. Yes, even a compressor to inflate your tires.

The whole story, including how I was nearly deported before I'd even make it to the train station - next week.

3. Camera shy.

4. Somewhere in Switzerland, someone is warm and cosy with the fleece of the 'TC' Cyclones Australian team jacket. WESTSIIIIIDE!

5. Just in case TC becomes a dentist, we wont show you his face on TV.

To make you 'internet dreamlife' more enjoyable, a musak player (top left) has been added for you enjoyment to listen only if you wish.

Weekly rotation - to have your favourite tunes on the playlist.

Have a great weekend.

For Slick & Mel.

Congratulations.

Those first 20 readers might have seen THIS pop up in place of the image I wanted to post.

Laugh - I nearly pee'd my bibs.

Internet crybabys... can't think of anything worse.

Here's what I intended.

Raaadiohead.

You'll be happy to know that Radiohead's Best Of album wasn't released as a decision by the band; before In Rainbows, their recording contract with EMI had ended, and as part of this contract I ****ume EMI had rights to use music the band created even after signing with a new label. Which is, of course, exactly what they did- Radiohead didn't even pick the tracks or play order.

To summarize, then, Radiohead pretty much wants nothing to do with this album. They even said in an interview a few years back that they'd never do a Greatest Hits.

Hope this brightened your day a tad. I certainly felt the same way upon hearing about the collection.
