Hey! Can't you see I'm driving here!
There is no hope for cars or bikes when each party only cares for itself.
That is surely the case.
As I cruised home I knocked on the window of a moving car which was inching into the bike lane, the driver looking down for several seconds to admire their new Motorola V231245b...
Obviously, they got the shock of their life, looked at me, and then went back to their phone.
I knocked again, and stopped at the lights pleading with the driver to at least wait till they were stopped before using their phone.
'How would you like it if someone pulled out in front of and scared the life out of you?' she barked.
I don't know - maybe I should ask all the cyclists killed under similar circumstances how they liked it?
Just another reminder of how lucky I am, and what a prick of a world this is.

Hunt for driver after cyclist goes through windscreen
July 07, 2008 07:38am
POLICE are searching for a Commodore driver involved in the hit-run injury of two cyclists in Mill Park yesterday.
A couple, in their mid-20s, were riding on Plenty Rd at 1.45pm when they were hit by a car allegedly involved in a drag race.
Police said witnesses saw the male driver "racing" a blue Commodore at excessive speeds in the 80km/h zone near Childs Rd.
It is believed one driver, an 18-year-old from Warrandyte, ploughed into the cyclists as he used the emergency lane to overtake a car.
The P-plate driver stopped his white Nissan sedan to help the couple but the driver of the Commodore fled the scene.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman Ray Rowe said the woman cyclist suffered neck injuries and broken bones and was taken to the Austin Hospital.
Her partner escaped with only cuts and bruises. Both riders were wearing helmets.
Police spokesman Leigh Wadeson said the cars were travelling at high speeds and the pair were lucky to escape serious injury.
"The female's head went through the windscreen and her helmet has saved her life. This could have been fatal if not for her helmet," he said.
"These people were just enjoying themselves on a Sunday ride and it is unfortunate they were struck by an undisciplined young driver."
Police are seeking the driver of a green mid-'90s Commodore sedan seen leaving the scene of the accident.
An 18-year-old Warrandyte man was helping police with their inquiries last night.
Sigh.
Weather was very cold and ordinary yesterday in Melbourne, but no one told the cars.
Collisions EVERYWHERE.
