What I'll miss while I'm away...
1. Melburn winter.
2. Being forced up the curb, into a pole by a truck that decides to change lanes last minute. Small consolation is that the driver was extremely polite and apologetic.
3. Watching the Track events this weekend.
Other than that?
Not that much.
There is something VERY nice about leaving what you know behind in favour of the unknown.
Where you'll be sleeping, eating, what you'll be seeing, doing, smelling, hearing, feeling and most of all - learning. It's all very exciting.
I look forward to bumpy bus rides, getting caught in storms, being hot, standing in cramped lines at a border crossing, having my mouth burn from spicy dishes, and taking the odd photograph.
I will aim to not injure myself or my cherished travelling companion, be robbed at gunpoint, ripped off, fall ill from eating from street sellers, buy tat that I will never use. However I cannot guarantee it.
It's a big world - I'm off to see it. I'll see you an e-card in a month
